A vision that began at home

Efizah Mohtar Rasali never set out to build an empire. She set out to raise children well — her own, and then others'. As co-founder of Brainy Bunch alongside her husband, Coach Mohd Fadzil Hashim, and Madam Ladyana Abdullah, she helped turn a simple conviction into one of the most distinctive education movements in the Muslim world.

That conviction was this: a child can be academically excellent and deeply grounded in faith at the same time. The two were never meant to be separate. From the first classroom, Efizah's role was to make sure the philosophy lived in the everyday — in how teachers spoke to children, how mornings began, how character was shaped alongside numeracy and language.

What started as a single learning space grew, year after year, into a network spanning more than 130 campuses and six countries — built not by chasing scale, but by refusing to compromise on the model.

We wanted children who could read the world and the Word — confident, kind, and unshakeable in who they are. The founding belief behind Brainy Bunch

The journey, in chapters

The beginning
One classroom, one belief
It started with a small Islamic Montessori preschool — proof that faith and rigorous early learning belong together.
Building the model
The SPICE framework takes shape
A complete approach to the whole child — eeman, body, character, academics, life skills, and language — becomes the spine of every campus.
Expansion
From Kajang to the region
Demand from parents drives growth across Malaysia and beyond — into a network of preschools and international schools.
Today
A movement, not just a school
130+ campuses, 11,000 students, and 955 educators across six countries — and a model parents now seek out by name.
Next
The legacy continues
SRIIBB primary schools, a digital SuperApp, and the next generation of integrated Islamic education.

The SPICE philosophy

At the heart of Efizah's work is a single idea: educate the whole child. SPICE is the framework that makes it concrete — six pillars woven into every classroom, every day, so that academic excellence and strong character grow together rather than apart.

S
Strong Eeman
Faith as the foundation — a confident, grounded relationship with the Creator.
P
Fit for Life
Healthy bodies and active habits that carry a child through every season.
I
Beautiful Akhlaq
Character, manners, and integrity — the mark of a truly educated person.
C
Academic Excellence
Rigorous, joyful learning that meets and exceeds modern standards.
E
Life Skills
Independence, problem-solving, and the practical wisdom to thrive.
L
4-Language Mastery
Fluency across languages — opening doors to the world and the ummah.

Islamic Montessori, by design

Montessori meets Islamic upbringing — a child-led environment where independence, exploration, and discovery are guided by tarbiyah and rooted in faith. Efizah helped shape this into a repeatable pedagogical method across every campus.

Stage 01
Prepared Environment
A calm, beautiful, purposeful space where children choose their own work and learn through the senses.
Stage 02
Faith Woven In
Quran, akhlaq, and Islamic identity integrated naturally into daily rhythm — not bolted on afterwards.
Stage 03
Guided Independence
Teachers as guides, not lecturers — nurturing self-direction, concentration, and a love of learning.
Stage 04
Whole-Child Growth
Head, heart, and hands developed together through the six SPICE pillars.
Stage 05
Ready for Both Worlds
Children who are academically capable, spiritually secure, and prepared to lead with purpose.
Every campus is a thousand futures, reshaped.
